FS, a provider of ICT products and solutions, announced on September 24, 2024, the unveiling of its latest 400G and 800G AI Ethernet switches. These new switches are powered by Broadcom's Tomahawk 5 chipset, designed for large AI clusters. The switches deliver up to 51.2 Tbps of switching capacity, or 102.4 Tbps Full Duplex, and support lossless RoCEv2 networking. This makes them suitable for demanding applications in AI, big data, high-performance computing, and distributed storage environments. The 400G switch features 128x QSFP112 ports, supporting up to 8K 400G ports in Layer 2 networking and scaling to 32K 400G ports in Layer 3 networking. The 800G model includes 64x OSFP ports, which support various configurations via breakout cables, demonstrating the scalability and efficiency of Broadcom's underlying technology.
