Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. announced on November 5, 2024, a new customer agreement with City Utilities (CU) of Springfield, Missouri, to provide 216 MWh of energy storage. This agreement represents Eos's largest municipal order to date and marks its first project in the state of Missouri. The project will involve providing 36 MW by six-hour duration energy storage for two project sites, utilizing Eos's Z3™ technology. This deployment will support City Utilities' expansion goals and its ability to maintain a planning reserve margin of over 36% by 2026. The selection of Eos's non-flammable, U.S.-manufactured battery energy storage system highlights the growing demand for safe and reliable long-duration storage solutions. This landmark project is a significant step in Eos's mission to deliver sustainable energy storage and expand its presence in the municipal customer segment.
