LCI Industries, through its Lippert subsidiary, announced the acquisition of substantially all business assets of Freedman Seating Company. Freedman, an Illinois-based manufacturer, specializes in transportation seating solutions for bus, rail, marine, delivery truck, specialty, and commercial vehicle markets.
Freedman Seating has a history spanning over 130 years, providing seating solutions to various bus OEMs, distributors, and government entities. This acquisition builds on Lippert's existing presence in the bus and transportation vehicle markets, where it has supplied window and glass solutions for over 12 years.
The acquisition follows Lippert's completion of the Trans Air acquisition in March of this year, which brought climate control systems for the commercial bus industry into its offerings. The addition of Freedman's seating line creates a comprehensive product offering for a familiar customer base in the transportation vehicle market, aligning with Lippert's diversification strategy into less cyclical transportation markets.
