Norwegian Cruise Line celebrated the official christening of the all-new Norwegian Aqua in Miami on April 14, 2025, with Emmy Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet serving as the ship's godfather. The ceremony took place at the company's LEED Gold Certified terminal at PortMiami.
During the celebration, NCL unveiled further expansion plans for Great Stirrup Cay, its private island in the Bahamas, with new experiences set to debut in the fourth quarter of 2025. These enhancements include an expansive heated pool area with a dedicated bar and kids splash zone, coinciding with the completion of a new multi-ship pier.
Additional plans for Great Stirrup Cay include a new welcome center and a convenient tram service. The island's development will also feature a new Vibe Beach Club and Horizon Park, extending popular onboard experiences to the private destination. These investments aim to deliver more relaxation and family activities, complementing the island's existing offerings.
