Dynamic Systems Inc. (DSI), a subsidiary of Vishay Precision Group, launched its new standalone Ultra High Temperature Ceramic and Composite (UHTC) system on January 29, 2025. This innovative system is designed for the development and testing of non-conductive materials, including ceramics. It enables research and development at temperatures exceeding 2000°C. DSI announced a collaboration with The University of Alabama, where a team will conduct beta testing of the UHTC system. This partnership aims to advance ceramic thermomechanical testing and positively impact ceramic development across various applications, including energy and aerospace. The UHTC system builds on the technology of DSI's Gleeble thermal-mechanical simulation tool. The UHTC system allows researchers and engineers to perform rapid thermal cycling via localized heating for efficient test results. It features an integrated pyrometer for precise control and monitoring of high temperatures, ensuring reliability and accuracy. This technology marks VPG's entry into a new and untapped market, with the potential to significantly expand DSI's business over time.
