Exxon Mobil Corp plans to invest over $200 million to expand its advanced recycling operations at its Baytown and Beaumont sites in Texas. The new operations are projected to commence in 2026, aiming to increase advanced recycling rates and divert plastic from landfills.
This investment will add 350 million pounds per year of advanced recycling capacity, bringing ExxonMobil’s total capacity to 500 million pounds per year. The company's global ambition is to reach 1 billion pounds per year of recycling capacity by 2027.
The expansion leverages ExxonMobil's proprietary technology to transform hard-to-recycle plastics into raw materials for new products, supporting a circular economy for plastics. This initiative addresses environmental concerns while creating new value streams within its Product Solutions segment.
