Alcoa Corporation Names Thomas J. Gorman as New Board Chairman

Alcoa Corporation announced on May 8, 2025, that its Board of Directors has named Thomas J. Gorman as the non-executive Chairman of the Board, effective immediately following the conclusion of the company’s 2025 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. Mr. Gorman has served as an independent director on the Board since May 2021.

Mr. Gorman succeeds Steven W. Williams, who stepped down from the Board after more than eight years of service, including as non-executive Chairman since January 2021. William Oplinger, Alcoa’s President and CEO, thanked Mr. Williams for his significant guidance and insight during his tenure.

Mr. Gorman brings over 35 years of global business knowledge, including extensive experience with complex, international operations from his career at industry-leading companies such as Brambles Ltd. and Ford Motor Company. His appointment is expected to provide continued leadership, operational, and strategic expertise to the Board.
