ACI Worldwide has added the Paze online checkout solution from Early Warning Services to its Pay.On payment orchestration platform, creating a single integration point for merchants to offer a bank‑backed digital wallet. The move brings Paze, which is already supported by seven of the nation’s largest banks—Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, PNC, Truist, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo—into ACI’s ecosystem.
Paze tokenizes card data so that merchants never see a consumer’s actual card number, reducing fraud risk and simplifying compliance. The wallet currently covers more than 150 million credit and debit cards and is projected to handle up to 16 million U.S. e‑commerce transactions in 2026, a volume that represents a significant share of the growing digital‑commerce market.
Pay.On is a payment orchestration layer that aggregates multiple payment methods and routes transactions to the most appropriate processor. By integrating Paze, ACI removes the need for merchants to build a separate integration, cutting implementation time and cost while adding a new, secure checkout option to the platform’s portfolio. This aligns with ACI’s strategy to streamline merchant onboarding and accelerate adoption of emerging payment methods.
The partnership positions ACI to capture a larger portion of the digital‑wallet market, differentiating it from competitors that rely on third‑party wallets or offer less integrated solutions. Merchants benefit from a simplified integration path and a broader payment choice for consumers, which can improve conversion rates and reduce cart abandonment. Consumers gain a convenient, bank‑backed payment option that leverages the trust of their financial institutions.
Tom Warsop, ACI Worldwide’s CEO, said the integration “changes the equation” by allowing merchants to turn on Paze—or any other wallet—without touching their core systems. Serge Elkiner, General Manager at Paze, added that the partnership meets the growing demand for seamless, secure checkout experiences in the fast‑evolving e‑commerce landscape.
ACI Worldwide processes roughly $7 trillion in payments annually and has positioned Pay.On as a core component of its modern payment solutions portfolio. The addition of Paze strengthens the platform’s value proposition and supports ACI’s broader goal of expanding digital payment options for merchants and consumers alike.
