ADTRAN announced on August 21, 2025, that Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) has selected its Oscilloquartz high-performance optically pumped cesium clock, the OSA 3300 HP. This technology will support positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) research at DSTG’s Adelaide facility. This deployment marks the first integration of optical cesium technology within Australian defense research, highlighting a broader shift towards autonomous, long-term synchronization solutions in defense organizations globally. The OSA 3300 HP offers unmatched stability and a modular design, providing the precision and adaptability needed for national infrastructure. The OSA 3300 HP uses optical pumping technology that measures 100 times more atoms than traditional magnetic cesium clocks, delivering outstanding frequency stability and precision. Its all-digital design ensures consistent performance, and its 10-year operational lifespan offers long-term value for Australia’s evolving synchronization requirements and critical scientific initiatives.
