Assured Guaranty (Europe) SA (AGE) announced on April 30, 2025, that it has guaranteed principal and interest payments on €75 million of notes issued by XpFibre Groupe. XpFibre Groupe is recognized as the largest independent Fibre-to-the-Home operator in France. This transaction marks a significant expansion for Assured Guaranty in the European market. This financing represents AGE’s first transaction in the European fiber sector. It also stands as its first primary financial guarantee in the French infrastructure space since the company opened its Paris office in 2019. The 13-year, senior secured fixed-rate notes guaranteed by AGE were funded by a single U.S. investor. Raphaël de Tapol, Directeur Général of AGE, highlighted the value of the financial guarantee for borrowers seeking cost-effective long-term debt. Yannick Kouam, Director, Infrastructure Finance of AGE, expressed expectations for increased activity in the European fiber sector in the coming years. This strategic move diversifies Assured Guaranty's risk and taps into new growth markets.
