Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (AITX) announced on February 20, 2025, the development of HERO (Humanoid Enforcement & Response Officer), an advanced humanoid security robot. HERO is engineered to expand the physical forms in which RAD delivers safety and security functionality, joining existing hardware like ROSA, RIO, AVA, TOM, and ROAMEO.
HERO, under development by AITX's subsidiary Robotic Assistance Devices Mobile, Inc. (RAD-M), could be commercially available towards the end of 2025. It will be powered by RAD's hardware and software suite, ensuring compatibility with existing RAD devices and enabling quick and easy operational effectiveness for clients.
The humanoid form factor is designed to address the human preference for engaging with such devices, encouraging compliance with facility rules and providing de-escalation benefits that non-humanoid forms cannot offer. HERO is expected to provide consistent, around-the-clock security operations without the financial burden associated with staffing and training human guards.
HERO is being engineered to interact naturally, performing duties such as de-escalation through presence, access control, issuing verbal warnings, and escalating incidents via its immediate connection through SARA (Speaking Autonomous Responsive Agent). Its public debut is scheduled for ISC West in Las Vegas in April.
