On October 23, 2025, Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle, announced that it will sell its 50% ownership stake in Eurecat SA to Axens SA, along with its Isomerization Catalysts business. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and will result in Axens assuming full ownership of Eurecat upon completion.

Eurecat is a leading provider of catalyst regeneration, rejuvenation, recycling, and ex‑situ activation services. The sale transfers control of these services and the associated catalyst business from Ketjen to Axens, effectively divesting Ketjen of a non‑core asset that does not align with Albemarle’s core lithium and specialty chemicals focus.

The divestiture aligns with Albemarle’s broader strategy to concentrate on its core businesses. While the transaction does not immediately affect Albemarle’s financial statements, it may free up capital and reduce operating complexity for the parent company.
