Total catastrophe losses for July and August combined amounted to $397 million, or $313 million after-tax. These figures indicate a relatively lower impact from severe weather compared to earlier months in the year.
Regarding policies in force, auto policies increased 0.3% month-over-month and 1.0% year-over-year to 25.308 million. Homeowners policies continued their growth trend, increasing 0.2% month-over-month and 2.1% year-over-year to 7.622 million, while commercial lines policies continued to decline year-over-year.
