Allison Transmission announced that its 3000 Series™ automatic transmission is now available in the CNG-powered Mack Granite® for waste management customers. This expands the powertrain options for customers, building on the successful launch of the Allison 4500 Rugged Duty Series™ transmission with the Mack Granite CNG in 2023.
This expanded offering provides customers with greater flexibility to optimize their trucks for lighter duty waste applications, potentially reducing acquisition costs while maintaining expected reliability and performance. Allison transmissions are designed to pair seamlessly with various fuel types, including compressed natural gas (CNG).
Allison-equipped natural gas vehicles maximize performance while reducing emissions and engine noise levels. The 3000 Series™ transmissions, with power ratings from 210 to 450 horsepower, ensure seamless, full-power shifts, enabling refuse fleets to achieve sustainability goals without sacrificing productivity.
