Allison Transmission announced an uprate to its B400 and B3400 xFE fully automatic transmissions, including retarder models. These enhanced transmissions now support ratings up to 350 horsepower and 1,150 ft. lbs. of torque. This uprate enables fleets operating non-articulated buses to continue specifying Allison transmissions as the industry transitions to the Cummins X10 engine. The collaboration ensures compliance with EPA27 Phase 3 Emissions Standards. The announcement follows a recent partnership between Allison Transmission and Cummins to integrate and certify a Cummins B-Series engine with the Allison eGen Flex® electric hybrid propulsion system. This strategic move aims to deliver cutting-edge solutions for the transit market for model year 2027 and beyond.
