Autoliv, Inc. presented its new Omni Safety™ system at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition 2025. This innovative safety system is specifically designed to address critical risks for occupants in reclined seating positions during a collision, a growing concern in modern vehicle designs with advanced driver-assist systems.

The Omni Safety system integrates advanced seatbelt and airbag functionalities to redefine occupant protection. It aims to mitigate injuries to the head, neck, pelvis, and lumbar spine by reducing the 'submarining' effect, where the lap belt shifts upward and occupants slide downwards in reclined positions.

This new system meets the latest proposed requirements from the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (CIASI 2026), highlighting Autoliv's responsiveness to evolving safety standards and market needs. The development involved thousands of simulations and tests, underscoring the company's commitment to innovation and real-life safety scenarios.
