Vultr, the world’s largest privately‑held cloud infrastructure provider, announced on Tuesday that it would invest more than $1 billion to launch a new artificial‑intelligence cluster powered by Advanced Micro Devices’ Instinct GPUs at a new data‑center campus in Springfield, Ohio.

The new campus will house 24,000 AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and will be the first cloud data‑center location for Vultr in Ohio, expanding the company’s presence in the Midwest and providing high‑performance AI compute for its customers.

The investment underscores AMD’s growing role in the AI infrastructure market, as the company’s Instinct GPUs are being deployed in large‑scale AI workloads and are positioned as a credible alternative to NVIDIA’s dominant GPU platform.
