On May 21, 2025, Ameresco, Inc. announced its partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) for a $20.7 million project. This initiative involves developing and installing over 2.7 MW of solar carport and shade structure PV systems, along with electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, at five middle school campuses. The projects will provide shaded parking and EV charging stations, supporting city- and state-wide goals for widespread EV adoption. Ameresco is also providing operations and maintenance (O&M) of the installed systems and a 25-year performance guarantee. This program is part of a larger effort to install solar at 21 LAUSD schools, supporting the LAUSD Board of Education's 2019 Clean Energy Resolution to achieve 100% clean energy by 2040. The entire 21-school program is expected to deliver up to $168 million in utility cost avoidance over the 25-year project term.
