The project, which kicked off in February 2024, involves a system-wide upgrade including new AMI technology to improve efficiency and allow customers to monitor daily water consumption through a web-based portal. It also includes lead-line and copper surveys to meet EPA requirements.
The City of Hurst anticipates significant operational savings by reducing the need for manual meter reads and re-reads, as well as eliminating truck rolls for move-in and move-out reads. This initiative is expected to build a more efficient, resilient water system for the community.
