On March 25, 2025, Ameresco, Inc. announced its partnership with the City of Hurst, Texas, for an over $9 million project to install water meters and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technology. This collaboration aims to enhance the city's water management capabilities. The project, which kicked off in February 2024, involves a system-wide upgrade including new AMI technology to improve efficiency and allow customers to monitor daily water consumption through a web-based portal. It also includes lead-line and copper surveys to meet EPA requirements. The City of Hurst anticipates significant operational savings by reducing the need for manual meter reads and re-reads, as well as eliminating truck rolls for move-in and move-out reads. This initiative is expected to build a more efficient, resilient water system for the community.
