Ashland has launched Klucel LS™ low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC), the latest addition to its oral solid dose (OSD) portfolio. This new excipient functions as a multifunctional binder and disintegrant, designed for smaller tablets with quick disintegration and rapid dissolution. It also offers anti-capping effects, enhanced stability, and is biodegradable. The company is also reintroducing the newly-improved Polyplasdone™ LN superdisintegrant, a high-purity crospovidone. This product features low and controlled nitrite specification, with nitrite levels at no more than 100 ppb, addressing industry concerns regarding nitrosamine formation. This initiative aims to support pharmaceutical companies in developing comprehensive nitrite control strategies. These product introductions underscore Ashland's commitment to innovation and its customer-centric approach in the pharmaceutical industry. The company leverages its expertise in HPC chemistry and vinyl pyrrolidone and derivatives to provide solutions that meet evolving market needs for quality and safety.
