AVA and Tembo e‑LV entered into a definitive agreement to distribute, assemble, and service Tembo’s 100% electric utility vehicles across Kenya, Tanzania, and other East African countries.
Under the agreement, AVA will use its IATF16949‑certified assembly lines and service network to build and maintain Tembo vehicles, while Tembo will open a local office in Nairobi and deploy a mobile technical support team to provide on‑site maintenance and training for local technicians.
The partnership expands AVA’s product portfolio into the growing electric utility vehicle market, targeting a regional market of roughly 500 million people and supporting Kenya’s national EV strategy. Tembo has already secured commitments for more than 10,000 fleet conversions worldwide, and the East African deal is expected to accelerate adoption of its vehicles in mining, agriculture, and logistics sectors.
The collaboration also aims to create local jobs and upskill engineers, reinforcing the region’s capacity to service electric vehicles and contributing to the broader electrification push in East Africa.
