AeroVironment announced on September 19, 2025, it was awarded a new firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract option by the U.S. Space Force Space Rapid Capabilities Office. This option is for the delivery of two BADGER phased array antenna systems to support the Satellite Communication Augmentation Resource (SCAR) program.
This award represents the first FFP option executed against the SCAR Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), aimed at enhancing system performance and operational readiness for swift deployment. AeroVironment has expanded manufacturing agreements with key suppliers to reinforce BADGER production pipelines, ensuring a robust and scalable infrastructure.
The company expects to deliver the first BADGER unit to the Space Force in the coming months, with additional units nearing completion for delivery in early 2026 to support full-scale overseas deployment. The Mission Support Container for the first system was delivered ahead of schedule this summer, ready for final integration testing.
