AeroVironment announced on September 11, 2025, the unveiling of the Arkeus Hyperspectral Optical Radar (HSOR) as the newest payload for its Group 3 JUMP 20 uncrewed autonomous system (UAS). This integration redefines autonomous Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
The HSOR-equipped JUMP 20 offers long standoff and increased situational awareness in congested and degraded visual and electromagnetic conditions. It utilizes hyperspectral imaging to analyze materials' unique spectral 'fingerprint,' enabling rapid environmental analysis, including water depth, foliage density, and subterranean activity, day and night.
This collaboration marks the JUMP 20 as the first and only uncrewed platform to integrate Arkeus HSOR, which is the first real-time, wide-area scan, hyperspectral sensor. Leveraging an AI-driven data engine, the system provides persistent detection, classification, location, and tracking of hundreds of contacts simultaneously across various domains.
