Broadcom and NEC have expanded their long‑standing partnership to deploy VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) for modern private‑cloud deployments. NEC will adopt VCF internally through its Client Zero program and will begin offering VCF‑based private‑cloud services and managed VCF to its customers starting in October 2025.

The expansion builds on more than 20 years of collaboration and positions Broadcom to deepen its presence in Asia, leveraging NEC’s extensive customer base. Nine of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies already use VCF, underscoring the platform’s market penetration and the potential for rapid adoption by NEC’s enterprise clients.

VCF supports a wide range of workloads, including AI, and Broadcom is integrating AI‑ready nodes and AI semiconductor solutions into the platform. The partnership aligns with Broadcom’s strategy to monetize AI infrastructure and expand its subscription‑based software revenue, reinforcing its position in the growing AI‑driven cloud market.

NEC’s Client Zero strategy means the company will test and refine VCF internally before offering it to customers, ensuring robust, secure, and high‑performance solutions. This approach is expected to accelerate adoption and reduce time‑to‑value for NEC’s clients, creating a win‑win for both vendors.

The expanded partnership is a strategic operational milestone that could increase Broadcom’s revenue and market share in the private‑cloud space, especially in regions where NEC has a strong presence. Broadcom’s long‑standing relationship with NEC provides a solid foundation for scaling VCF deployments and driving AI workloads.

Analysts view the partnership as a positive signal for Broadcom’s infrastructure‑software segment, noting that the collaboration could strengthen the company’s position against competitors and support its broader AI strategy.
