Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings, Inc. completed the purchase of two Canadair CL‑215T Super Scooper aircraft from MAB Funding, LLC on December 23, 2025, and publicly announced the transaction on December 30, 2025. The acquisition increases Bridger’s Super Scooper fleet from six to eight aircraft and adds four Air Attack aircraft to its balance sheet, two of which had been leased and operating under contract during 2025.
The $50 million purchase was financed through Bridger’s $210 million Senior Secured Term Loan Facility that closed in October 2025, underscoring the company’s willingness to leverage debt to accelerate fleet expansion and capture new revenue opportunities.
Strategically, the deal makes Bridger the owner of the largest private Super Scooper fleet in the world, positioning the company to secure exclusive-use and call‑when‑needed contracts for the 2026 fire season and beyond. The expansion also supports Bridger’s shift from a seasonal wildfire suppression model to a year‑round, multi‑mission aerial services platform, reducing seasonal cash‑flow volatility and opening higher‑margin surveillance contracts.
CEO Sam Davis said the addition “positions Bridger to better fulfill our mission to protect lives, property, and the environment in 2026” and that the new aircraft “will generate additional revenue and cash flow starting in 2026.” He added that the expansion “directly enhances our ability to combat increasingly severe wildfires, better serve our government agency partners, and protect communities and critical infrastructure.”
The acquisition comes amid a $3.7 billion Wildland Fire Service budget for 2026, providing a favorable tailwind for contract awards. While the company’s leverage has increased, the expanded fleet strengthens its competitive position and aligns with its long‑term strategy to diversify revenue streams and improve operational flexibility.
