Braskem announced a significant expansion in its green ethylene production capacity, reaching 275,000 tons per year at its Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil unit. This represents a 37% increase compared to the initial project capacity in 2010.

The expanded capacity for green ethylene, the raw material for Braskem's I’m green™ bio-based polyethylene, is projected to capture approximately 159,000 tons of CO₂ annually. This is equivalent to the carbon emitted by 12,000 U.S. citizens in one year.

This milestone reinforces Braskem's strategic focus on developing its I’m green™ bio-based offerings and its commitment to supporting the industry's sustainability journey. The company aims to become carbon-neutral by 2050, with this expansion being a key step towards that goal.
