Yubico has made its YubiKeys available in 350 Best Buy stores across the United States, giving consumers a new way to purchase hardware authentication devices in physical retail locations.

The rollout includes the YubiKey 5 NFC, YubiKey 5C, and YubiKey 5 Nano, priced between $25 and $45, and is the first time the company’s secure passkeys are sold in brick‑and‑mortar outlets.

Best Buy’s decision to carry YubiKeys follows a period of mixed financial results, including a 2.9% decline in comparable sales and a GAAP diluted earnings per share of $1.26 in its most recent quarter, and aligns with the retailer’s strategy to broaden its cybersecurity product lineup.

Yubico’s CEO, Thomas K. Smith, said the partnership will help make strong authentication more accessible to consumers, especially younger shoppers who are increasingly targeted by phishing attacks.

The company also highlighted its “Secure it Forward” program, which donates YubiKeys to youth technology centers, and noted that the Best Buy partnership will support the program’s outreach goals.

Best Buy’s FY25 revenue guidance remains in the $41.1 billion to $41.5 billion range, and the retailer expects the new product line to contribute to its overall cybersecurity sales growth.
