BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) and Biosero announced a framework collaboration agreement on January 23, 2025, to enable robotic arm integration with BD flow cytometry instruments. This partnership aims to accelerate drug discovery and development by automating traditionally manual laboratory processes. The companies intend to develop new software capabilities within BD flow cytometer instrument software to be compatible with Biosero’s Green Button Go® software. This integration will allow for automated sample loading and analysis of multiwell plates, potentially handling hundreds of plates without human intervention. This automation is paramount for biopharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations that rely on scalability, reproducibility, quality, and speed in high-throughput drug screening and cell therapy manufacturing. The new software versions will be available for research use in 2025 for several BD FACSymphony and FACSLyric systems, with the BD FACSDiscover™ family on the roadmap for future integration.
