BigCommerce Customers Achieve 26% Increase in Cyber Week Sales, Outperforming Global Benchmarks

BigCommerce reported on December 4, 2024, that its customers significantly outperformed global averages during the five-day Cyber Week period, achieving a 26% increase in gross merchandise value (GMV). This growth surpassed the 6% increase in global online Cyber Week sales reported by Salesforce.

The data also indicated increased shopper activity and spending, with total orders for BigCommerce customers rising by 13% and average order value (AOV) increasing by 11%. This 26% GMV increase represents the largest growth seen by BigCommerce customers since the company began reporting in 2021.

U.S. brands and retailers on the platform experienced a 27% GMV increase, a 10% order increase, and a 15% AOV increase during Cyber Week. EMEA stores saw even stronger results, with a 39% GMV increase and a 45% increase in orders, driven by substantial growth in Italy and the UK.
