Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp. announced a strategic collaboration with the Colorado Wheat Research Foundation (CWRF) to jointly develop and commercialize its HB4® wheat technology in the United States. This agreement combines Bioceres’ proprietary drought-tolerant trait with CWRF’s leadership in U.S. wheat innovation.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bioceres will grant CWRF exclusive, sublicensable rights to the HB4 trait within the U.S. territory. CWRF will serve as the Trait Manager, facilitating broad access to HB4 wheat for third-party breeding programs and commercial channels, and leading engagement with U.S. stakeholders.

The collaboration also includes plans to develop new broad-spectrum herbicide formulations specifically tailored for HB4 wheat, which will be combined with Bioceres’ biological solutions. This integrated system is designed to enhance grower performance and promote environmental safety, aligning with global sustainability goals.

Bioceres will maintain leadership over all regulatory activities for the HB4 trait, ensuring compliance with the U.S. Wheat Industry Principles for Biotechnology Commercialization. The HB4 trait will be made available to any interested public or private wheat breeding program in the U.S. through an open licensing model, supporting widespread access while upholding quality and stewardship standards.
