BJ’s Wholesale Club announced the grand openings of three new warehouse clubs, adding a Springfield, Massachusetts, Sumter, South Carolina, and Casselberry, Florida, location to its portfolio. The Springfield club, located at 1655 Boston Road, will open on December 12, 2025, and marks the first new BJ’s location in Massachusetts in thirteen years, bringing the state total to 26 clubs. The Sumter club, at 1475 Alice Drive, also opens on December 12, 2025, and is the third club in South Carolina. The Casselberry club, situated at the Casselberry Exchange on State Road 436, will open on December 17, 2025, and is BJ’s 42nd club in Florida.

Each new club will feature an on‑site BJ’s gas station, offering everyday low fuel prices and savings through the BJ’s Fuel Savers Program. The Springfield and Sumter gas stations began serving customers in November 2025, while the Casselberry station opened on December 3, 2025. The inclusion of fuel stations is part of BJ’s strategy to enhance member convenience and drive additional traffic to its warehouses.

The expansion aligns with BJ’s broader goal of opening 25–30 new clubs over the next two fiscal years, supported by a real‑estate pipeline described as the strongest in more than two decades. The company’s leadership highlighted that these new locations will strengthen its presence in key growth markets and reinforce its value proposition of up to 25% savings on grocery items, alongside services such as curbside pickup, same‑day delivery, and ExpressPay through the mobile app.

BJ’s reported Q3 2025 earnings earlier this month, with revenue of $5.35 billion, up 5.3% year‑over‑year, and net income of $152.1 million, a 2.3% decline. Diluted earnings per share were $1.15, down 1.8% from the prior year, reflecting modest pressure on comparable club sales (up 1.1%) and a decline in gasoline sales. Membership fee income rose 9.8% to $126.3 million, underscoring the strength of the club’s membership model. Management noted that the mix of fresh meat, produce, dairy, and snack categories continued to drive comparable sales growth, while the company maintained cost discipline to offset headwinds in fuel and commodity costs.

Bill Werner, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development, said the new clubs would “bring savings of up to 25% off grocery store prices every day and help families in the communities we serve.” He added that each club will support a local food bank, reinforcing BJ’s commitment to community involvement. The openings also position BJ’s to compete more aggressively with Costco and Sam’s Club in the eastern United States, where membership density and price sensitivity remain high.

The new clubs represent a strategic investment in market expansion and member experience, reinforcing BJ’s long‑term growth trajectory and its focus on delivering value to a broad customer base.
