The Buckle, Inc. reported a 0.6 percent increase in comparable store net sales for the four-week period ended November 2, 2024, compared to the prior year. Total net sales for the fiscal month also saw a slight increase of 0.1 percent, reaching $87.9 million.
Despite the positive monthly comparable sales, the 13-week third quarter comparable store net sales decreased by 0.7 percent, with total net sales for the quarter falling 3.2 percent to $293.6 million. Year-to-date comparable store net sales for the 39-week period ended November 2, 2024, decreased by 5.4 percent, and total net sales for the period were down 4.6 percent to $838.5 million.
The women's business showed strength with a 5.0 percent increase in sales, representing 47.0 percent of total sales, while the men's business decreased by 1.5 percent. Accessory sales were up 5.0 percent, but footwear sales declined by 9.0 percent. The company opened two new stores in fiscal October, located in Glendale, Arizona, and Southaven, Mississippi, bringing its total to 445 retail stores in 42 states.
