BlackSky announced a new multi‑year agreement worth more than $30 million to integrate its Gen‑3 tactical ISR services into an international customer’s secure environment.

The deal will deploy BlackSky’s Gen‑3 satellite constellation and Spectra AI‑powered analytics platform to deliver real‑time, high‑frequency imagery and actionable intelligence. The customer will receive on‑demand, 35‑centimeter resolution imagery and advanced analytics within a secure, dedicated environment.

The contract adds a significant revenue stream to BlackSky’s backlog, which stood at $356 million at the end of Q2 2025. The new agreement represents a 10% increase in backlog value compared with the $366 million reported in Q1 2025, and it reinforces the company’s focus on international defense and intelligence customers amid U.S. budget uncertainties.

BlackSky’s backlog is now approximately 85% international, a figure that has remained stable since the company’s Q2 2025 earnings report. The company has set a target of achieving positive adjusted EBITDA in the second half of 2025, a milestone that the new contract supports by expanding its high‑margin Gen‑3 service portfolio.

The company’s Gen‑3 satellite program, which began launching in February 2025, offers 35‑centimeter resolution and a revisit rate of 1–2 days, positioning BlackSky to meet the growing demand for real‑time geospatial intelligence worldwide.
