Brenmiller Energy Ltd. announced today the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ENASCO Ltd. to pioneer nuclear Small Modular Reactor (SMR)-integrated thermal energy storage (TES) solutions. This collaboration aims to develop and deploy bGen™ TES systems for SMR applications.
The commercial roadmap for this partnership includes the launch of the first joint bGen TES project expected in 2027, targeting three projects worth $50 million by 2030. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to develop a pipeline of 15-20 projects with a potential value of $650 million by 2035.
Pilot integrations are planned to power AI data centers, addressing a critical need for stable and clean energy in high-demand computing infrastructure. This strategic move positions Brenmiller to capitalize on the projected growth of SMR capacity, which could reach up to 120 GW by 2050, requiring over $670 billion in global investment.
