Berkshire Hathaway purchased an additional 8.9 million shares in Occidental Petroleum for $405 million through transactions in December, increasing its stake to above 28%. This move signals continued confidence in the Houston-based energy producer.
During the same period, the conglomerate also acquired approximately 5 million shares of Sirius XM for around $113 million, pushing its stake in the satellite radio company to about 35%. Additionally, Berkshire bought about 234,000 shares of VeriSign for roughly $45 million.
These purchases collectively amounted to over $560 million worth of stocks, demonstrating Berkshire Hathaway's strategy of capitalizing on market pullbacks to increase positions in selected companies.
