WEED, Inc. announced on December 16, 2025 that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Remergify Inc., a firm that specializes in asset monetization and blockchain integration. The two companies will collaborate to design, develop, program, deploy, and coordinate the launch of two new digital assets—WEEDCoin and BUDZCoin—intended to address the banking and cash challenges that plague the highly regulated cannabis and hemp industry.

WEED’s core business remains global cannabis and hemp bioresearch, focused on developing cannabis‑derived compounds for medical applications and building a genomics database. The company has posted net losses in recent quarters and its equity is trading at a very low price, underscoring the need for new revenue streams. The partnership is therefore a strategic diversification aimed at creating liquidity and unlocking value from the company’s existing intellectual property and uncapitalized assets.

Remergify brings expertise in blockchain, tokenization, and artificial intelligence. The partnership’s goal is to create a stable‑coin treasury that can facilitate payments, enhance supply‑chain transparency, and potentially open new funding avenues for WEED’s research and development activities. By tokenizing its assets, WEED hopes to reduce reliance on cash and mitigate the security risks associated with large cash holdings at dispensaries.

CEO Glenn E. Martin said the move “marks a pivotal step in transforming WEED’s uncapitalized assets into a revenue‑generating operation by creating a new Stablecoin Treasury utilizing WEEDCoin (B2C) and BUDZCoin (B2B) for businesses and consumers alike.” Stuart Fine, CEO of Remergify, added that the company’s “expertise in mergers, asset optimization, AI and crypto ecosystems will ensure rapid execution of our plans,” while acknowledging that regulatory hurdles remain a challenge.

The partnership faces significant regulatory uncertainty. Federal prohibition of cannabis and evolving cryptocurrency regulations create a complex compliance environment. The company must navigate state‑level cannabis laws, federal banking restrictions, and the regulatory framework governing digital assets. These headwinds could delay token issuance and adoption, but the potential benefits—new liquidity, reduced cash handling, and expanded funding options—could outweigh the risks if the regulatory path clears.
