Cardinal Health announced that construction is underway for a new 340,000 square-foot distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas, dedicated to its at-Home Solutions business. This facility will consolidate two existing warehouses into one larger site, increasing inventory capacity by approximately 74,000 square feet.
The new distribution center is designed to ship an average of 10,000 packages per day directly to patients' homes across the country, supporting the delivery of critical medical supplies. It will retain the current workforce and is anticipated to be fully operational in the Summer of 2025.
The facility will be equipped with advanced robotics and automation technologies, including 74 robots, a 1,500-foot automated conveyor system, and four automated box-making machines. These enhancements aim to improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency in picking, packing, and shipping operations.
