Canaan Inc. launched its Avalon A16XP‑300T at the Blockchain Life 2025 summit in Dubai. The air‑cooled miner delivers 300 terahashes per second and consumes 12.8 joules per terahash, translating to a power draw of approximately 3,840 watts.
The new ASIC chip powers the A16XP and represents a 40 % increase in hash rate and a 24 % reduction in energy consumption per hash compared with the A15 Pro’s 215 TH/s and 16.8 J/TH figures. The efficiency places the A16XP on par with Bitmain’s Antminer S21XPs, which achieve around 13 J/TH.
Pre‑orders for the A16XP‑300T are open and the unit is priced at $5,580. Shipping will be handled from Canaan’s production facilities in North America, East Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Chairman and CEO Nangeng Zhang said the launch reflects a leap forward for the company in both energy efficiency and computing power, underscoring Canaan’s vertically integrated model that spans ASIC design, manufacturing, self‑mining, and treasury management.
With a market capitalization of roughly $816 million at the time of the announcement, Canaan’s new miner reinforces its position as a leading provider in the Bitcoin mining hardware market and supports its strategy to expand its international footprint and enhance operational efficiency.
