Colony Bankcorp, Inc. announced that Edward P. Loomis, Jr. will retire from the Board of Directors of both the Company and Colony Bank, effective May 22, 2025. Loomis has served as a Director of the Company since May 2012.
Loomis previously held the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer of Colony Bankcorp and Colony Bank from May 2012 until his retirement in July 2018. During his tenure as CEO, he guided Colony through a recessionary period, implementing new efficiencies and expanding into new markets.
Mark H. Massee, Chairman of the Board, expressed gratitude for Loomis's leadership and dedication, noting his instrumental role in guiding the Bank forward. CEO T. Heath Fountain acknowledged Loomis for building a strong foundation that positioned Colony for long-term success.
