Cabot Corporation today announced the addition of a new manufacturing facility in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to produce circular reinforcing carbons powered by its EVOLVE® Sustainable Solutions technology platform. The new site joins existing production locations in Mauá, Brazil and Valasske Mezirici, Czech Republic, creating a global network of three active circular reinforcing carbon plants.
The expansion brings Cabot’s total ISCC PLUS certified sites to 14 worldwide, including 12 reinforcing carbon sites and two masterbatch/compounding sites. The Ville Platte plant will use tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) derived from end‑of‑life tires, leveraging an ISCC PLUS mass‑balance approach to certify the sustainability of the feedstock and reduce transportation‑related emissions.
By adding a U.S. manufacturing base, Cabot strengthens its “make‑in‑region, sell‑in‑region” strategy, improving customer proximity and reducing logistics costs. The move supports the industry’s goal of 40% sustainable content in tire production by 2030 and positions Cabot to capture a larger share of the circular reinforcing carbon market, underpinning long‑term revenue growth.
