Cameco Corporation acknowledged the resignation of Patrick Fragman, President and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company, effective March 31, 2025. Fragman, who led Westinghouse since 2019, is stepping down to spend more time with his family in Europe.
Dan Sumner, previously Westinghouse's President of Operating Plant Services, has been appointed deputy CEO immediately. He will assume the role of interim president and CEO starting April 1, 2025, while a recruitment process is underway for a permanent successor.
Cameco, as a joint owner of Westinghouse with a 49% interest, holds three seats on the company's board of directors. Cameco President and CEO Tim Gitzel thanked Fragman for his leadership, noting Westinghouse's position as a leader in nuclear innovation and plant services.
