Holland America Line has unveiled its 2027‑2028 cruise season for Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, with itineraries running from September 2027 through March 2028. The new line‑up includes voyages ranging from 14 to 35 days, offering guests deeper immersion in the region’s natural and cultural attractions.

The season introduces overnight stays in Melbourne, Cairns and Lautoka, allowing passengers to experience local culture, cuisine and wildlife beyond a single day. The itineraries will visit 14 ports across Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga and other destinations, including a 26‑day “Australia, Coral Sea & Fiji Legendary Voyage” that features more than 100 wildlife and nature tours.

Strategically, the launch expands Holland America Line’s presence in the South Pacific and reinforces Carnival Corporation’s Caribbean‑centric focus by adding a premium product line that targets higher‑yield guests. By offering longer, more immersive itineraries and unique port experiences, the line seeks to differentiate itself from competitors and capture a growing segment of travelers seeking experiential cruises.

Carnival Corporation’s recent financial performance provides a solid foundation for this investment. Q3 2025 results showed record net income of $1.9 billion and revenues of $8.2 billion, up from $7.95 billion in Q3 2024. Full‑year 2024 revenue reached $25 billion, a 15% increase from the prior year, underscoring the company’s ability to fund new product launches and sustain growth.

In the South Pacific market, competitors such as Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean operate shorter, more conventional itineraries. Holland America’s emphasis on extended voyages, overnight port stays and curated wildlife tours positions it as a premium alternative, appealing to guests willing to pay a higher price for deeper cultural and natural experiences.

The season is expected to enhance Holland America Line’s competitive positioning and drive future revenue growth in the region. By attracting higher‑yield guests and offering a differentiated product, the line can capture a larger share of the premium cruise market while supporting Carnival’s broader strategy of geographic diversification and yield optimization.
