Churchill Downs Incorporated announced the completion of its previously announced acquisition of a majority of the outstanding interests in Casino Salem, a joint venture located in Salem, New Hampshire. The transaction was funded using the company's existing credit facility.
The initial phase of Casino Salem, which includes approximately 100 historical racing machines (HRMs) and 13 live table games, opened on July 9th. CDI will now proceed with finalizing plans and commencing construction for future phases of the project.
These future developments include a rebranding of the venue, an expansion of the gaming floor, and the introduction of several new food and beverage concepts. This acquisition solidifies CDI's expansion into the New Hampshire market and its high-margin charitable gaming and HRM business.
