Churchill Downs Incorporated announced a temporary pause on its previously unveiled multi-year capital projects for The Skye, Conservatory, and Infield areas at Churchill Downs Racetrack. This decision stems from increasing uncertainty regarding construction costs, driven by tariff and trade disputes, as well as current macroeconomic conditions.

Instead of the larger projects, CDI will proceed with renovations of the existing Finish Line Suites and The Mansion, two of the racetrack's most exclusive areas. These smaller-scale projects are expected to be completed by April 2026 and will cost approximately $25-30 million.

The company stated that this disciplined approach to capital allocation is a response to the evolving economic landscape. While the larger projects are on hold, the renovations aim to significantly improve premium hospitality experiences and guest amenities.
