Churchill Downs Incorporated announced it received approval from the Calvert City Planning and Zoning Board for the development of Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming. This new historical horse racing (HRM) entertainment venue in Calvert City, Kentucky, is projected to cost $40 to $50 million.
Marshall Yards will be CDI's eighth HRM venue in Kentucky and is expected to open in early 2026. The facility will feature up to 240 state-of-the-art HRMs, a sports bar, a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and food and beverage offerings. It will operate as an annex of Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel.
The company anticipates that this project will generate $45 million in annual regional economic impact and create 90 permanent jobs, in addition to 250 construction jobs. This development reinforces CDI's strategy of expanding its high-margin HRM business in key markets.
