Cigna Group Foundation Commits $9 Million to Veteran Mental Health and Housing Stability

The Cigna Group Foundation has announced a new grant program, allocating $9 million over the next three years to improve veteran mental health with a specific focus on housing stability. This initiative aims to support veterans who face an elevated risk of homelessness.

The Foundation has named 22 recipients for the first year of the program, partnering with nonprofit organizations that utilize evidence-informed programs and services. These efforts are designed to help local veterans, including underserved populations such as women and veterans of color, achieve stable living conditions and improve their mental health.

Grants are prioritized in regions where The Cigna Group serves a significant number of customers with high social determinant of health risks, including Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas. The program emphasizes permanent housing and mental health support as primary objectives.
