Chipotle Appoints Jason Kidd as Chief Operating Officer; Jack Hartung to Retire as President and Chief Strategy Officer

On May 6, 2025, Chipotle Mexican Grill announced the hiring of Jason Kidd as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective May 19. Kidd, who previously served as global chief operating officer at Taco Bell, will be responsible for overseeing operations across Chipotle's nearly 3,800 restaurants and will report directly to CEO Scott Boatwright.

Concurrently, Jack Hartung, who has been with Chipotle for nearly 25 years and served as President and Chief Strategy Officer, will step down from his current role on June 1, 2025. Hartung will remain with the company as a senior advisor through early March 2026, ensuring a smooth transition.

As part of this executive transition, Curt Garner, Chief Customer and Technology Officer, will expand his responsibilities to become President, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, overseeing supply chain. Chris Brandt, Chief Brand Officer, will also take on an expanded role as President, Chief Brand Officer, leading a cross-functional team for menu and ingredient processes.
