Ambetter Health, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation, opened its Health Insurance Marketplace enrollment for the 2026 plan year on November 1, 2025, allowing existing and new members to enroll, renew, or change coverage.

The launch brings 5.5 million members into the program, covering 29 states and more than 1,700 counties, according to Centene’s Q3 2025 earnings report.

Ambetter Health introduced several new features for the 2026 plan year, including ICHRA‑compatible plans that let employers offer a fixed stipend for employees to purchase individual market coverage, a refreshed My Health Pays rewards program that rewards members for healthy behaviors, and a 24/7 virtual care platform that expands telehealth access.

The open enrollment period runs through January 15, 2026, and is part of Centene’s broader strategy to grow its marketplace share amid regulatory changes such as the expiration of enhanced Advance Premium Tax Credits after 2025.

Centene’s Q3 2025 earnings report highlighted a $6.7 billion goodwill impairment that drove a GAAP loss of $6.6 billion, but the company also reported increased revenue and raised its full‑year adjusted earnings per share outlook. The marketplace segment is expected to face a $2.4 billion drag in 2026 due to adverse selection and higher medical costs, prompting rate adjustments aligned with a new morbidity baseline.

CEO Sarah London emphasized that the 2026 open enrollment launch is a key milestone in Centene’s effort to strengthen its government‑sponsored plan portfolio while navigating competitive pressures from other large health insurers.
