CenterPoint Energy filed a settlement agreement with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission for its 2023 rate case, seeking to adjust natural gas distribution service rates in 2024 and 2025. The agreement was reached with all intervening parties, including the Minnesota Department of Commerce and the Minnesota Office of Attorney General. If approved, the rate adjustment will enable CenterPoint to continue making investments in the safety and resiliency of its natural gas distribution system. These investments include replacing aging infrastructure, modernizing the system, and enhancing safety measures. The requested increase is approximately 4.7% or $60.8 million for 2024 and 3.1% or $42.7 million for 2025, which would add $2.70 to the average residential customer's monthly bill in 2024 and an additional $1.27 in 2025. A decision from the Commission is expected in 2025. The content on BeyondSPX is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as financial or investment advice.
