On August 12, 2025, Americold Realty Trust celebrated the grand opening of its new $100+ million Import-Export Hub in Kansas City, Missouri. This 335,000-square-foot facility was developed in partnership with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and marks Americold’s first presence on the CPKC rail network.
The new hub is positioned as a key facility for the Mexico Midwest Express (MMX), a premium intermodal service. This collaboration aims to unlock a new era of food flow across North America by enhancing temperature-controlled logistics and supply chain efficiency.
The facility will support both importers and exporters of temperature-sensitive food between Mexico and the United States. This operational milestone strengthens CPKC's strategic partnership with Americold and expands its capabilities in the growing temperature-controlled freight market.
